Since 2003 Kurt Jansen’s company, Downshift, Inc., has produced Dashcards, nationally recognized driver safety tests in a creative game format. Uniquely designed, these colorful, handheld card decks can be stored in a glove box or other safe place within a car.

Dashcards are a direct result of Kurt Jansen’s life experience as a driver and educator. A FedEx courier for over 26 years, Jansen researched the traffic law for all fifty states and then invented the Rules of the Road Dashcards game.

He followed up with Tools of the Road Dashcards, an indispensable set of road emergency guidelines. Downshift, Inc. now works to develop an interactive game and reference tool for computer and cell phone, enabling users to take a test or easily access answers to traffic law questions.

As a driver safety instructor in Eugene, Oregon, for 15 years, Jansenencourages everyone sharing the road to understand and follow traffic laws.
